Teaching

Alexa believes in a holistic approach to teaching students of all levels, ages and backgrounds.

Alexa brings training and experience in studio-and classroom teaching, pedagogy, and educational administration. She obtained a Teaching Diploma of the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music in the United Kingdom, and completed the Post-Graduate Teaching Program of the New School for Music Study, a division of the Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy.

She served on the faculty of the New School for Music Study in New Jersey, and currently teaches at Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. During her time at the Yale School of Music, Alexa was a teacher of secondary piano lessons and a Teaching Assistant for Yale’s Music History curriculum.

Alexa is a member of the Music Teachers’ National Association and College Music Society. Her students have been listed on the First Class Honor Roll of the Royal Conservatoire of Music examinations, and achieved “Excellent” qualifications at the New Jersey Spring Piano Festival.

Alexa engages with students across various educational settings. She established a platform for young musicians to participate in chamber music workshops through the ContemporArt Festival. She regularly offers masterclasses, lecture recitals, and adjudicates for competitions of the Tennessee Music Teachers Association.

Alexa contributes towards the field of pedagogy. She presented at the National Conference for Keyboard Pedagogy, the New Jersey Music Teachers Association’s Advancing Professionals Network, and the 49th Conference of the American Hungarian Educators’ Association.

    Educative Workshops

    Most recently, Alexa co-presented an interactive immersive musical experience based on the Carnaval of the Animals for four hands at the Princeton Public Library. She also co-devised an interactive workshop focusing on the Quartet for two pianos and two vibraphones by Steve Reich at the New School for Music Study. Watch here

    Studio Teaching

    Alexa has over ten years of teaching experience, working with pre-college, university, and adult learners.

    She regularly prepares her students for juries, festivals, concerts, and competitions, and believes in equipping each one with the tools to express themselves confidently through their instrument.

    Masterclasses & Chamber Music Coaching

    Alexa has offered chamber music coachings and masterclasses, including at the University of Bridgeport, Community Music Center of Boston, and the ContemporArt Festival. In 2026, she is an Pianist-in-Residence at the Festival for Creative Pianists in Vermont.
