ContemporArt Festival
ContemporArt is a chamber music festival and a non-governamental organization founded by Alexa in her hometown, Satu Mare, Romania. Ever since 2023, the annual week-long festival is dedicated to fostering artistic collaboration and meaningful engagement between musicians and audiences. The festival creates immersive performances in historically and culturally rich spaces around Satu Mare county, such as the Dinu Lipatti Philharmonic, the Károlyi Castle, and Berenczei Kováts Manor. These venues offer a unique atmosphere where music resonates in dialogue with architecture, history, and community.
Each year, ContemporArt presents a series of dynamic concerts featuring internationally established artists, members of the Satu Mare Philharmonic and musical community, and local emerging young musicians. The concerts blend contemporary music with gems of the classical canon. Each year the Festival showcases multiple emerging composers, who interact with the community and workshop their pieces with the resident artists.
The festival also offers chamber music workshops, giving young musicians the opportunity to refine their ensemble skills, explore interpretation, and engage in creative dialogue with experienced performers. These workshops emphasize collaboration, musical communication, and the joy of shared exploration.
Committed to accessibility and community enrichment, ContemporArt is entirely free of charge, ensuring that music remains an open and inspiring force for all. Through its concerts and educational initiatives, the festival continues to cultivate a vibrant space where tradition and innovation converge, bringing people together through the shared language of music.
The Festival is proud to be supported by the Dinu Lipatti State Philharmonic, and the Satu Mare County Council.
